Read MoreMany times when life happens in the form of a loss, one of the things that’s often expressed from loved ones is “Let me know if you need me” or “If there’s anything I can do, I’m here”. And for the most part, I’ve found these sentiments of love to be well intentioned.

Read MoreHey y’all! Tori here.
I used to work as a Counselor at a domestic violence agency when I lived in Philadelphia a little over a year ago (shout out Domestic Abuse Project of DelCo (DAP)!) Being my first job after earning my Master’s Degree, I was blessed to say that I really enjoyed my job and beyond that, I loved my clients even more. I always tell my clients that I learn much more from them than they will probably ever learn from me.
I’m currently reading two books and in the last week, both books have referenced Philippians 4:8. So when I sat down to write this week’s edition of Perfectly Unwrapping, it was fairly easy to narrow in on what God has been speaking to me these last few days...
When my children were younger, I took great pride in knowing their needs before they asked. And I don’t mean the essential needs that are necessary for survival... I’m talking about those other needs, that I could often tell they were trying to figure out exactly how to ask for.

Read MoreBecause I’m such a planner, I’m always trying to find the perfect time for everything. This applies to just about all aspects of my life, from finding the right time of the year to schedule an event to the best time of day to eat or drink the 64 ounces of water I try to commit to daily (this one is rather important because it determines how often I have to get up throughout the night)

Definition of inside job: done by or with the help of someone in a position within an organization or group.
More than I care to share, I’ve found myself in situations where I wish I had responded differently. Situations that may or may not have been avoidable, but resulted in not the best version of me showing up.

When met with situations that go from bad to worse, we call them lemons.
As I’ve shared a few times in the last seven months, I’m a proud, new YaYa!! Our daughter and her husband welcomed their first child on Jan 4th, 2021! Although my experience being a YaYa is fairly new, it feels like I’ve been preparing for it all my life.
Read MoreThroughout my week, I regularly check in with God for content to write about. At times, He wakes me up to a thought. Other times He’ll speak to me through His word or a song.

Read MoreIf you’re like me, there are times when I don’t want to bother God. And surprisingly enough, not because what I’m concerned with is a small matter, but sometimes it’s because it feels too big.
