Trusting the Plan

For the most part, I’m the planner in my family. Now, my sister Asha will probably cringe when she reads this and will post or text something that begs to differ🙄 Because while I’m convinced that planning is one of my strengths, attention to detail is probably not—I’ll leave that to you Lil Sis🙃

But, even the best plans with all the details addressed, sometimes fall apart at the point of execution. And in some cases, not done intentionally or because of an oversight; the plans just didn’t happen. Maybe circumstances beyond your control played a part... unexpected sickness, weather, or just LIFE!!

I tend to struggle in this area, but I’m learning from some valuable people in my life. My husband and son can be told at the gate boarding a flight to return home that there’s an issue and the next flight won’t leave until morning— They’d both turn around and start thinking about what fun thing they could do with their extra night. I’d demand to talk to the pilot!!

At some point when it would just be my husband and I and he’d had enough of my pouting, he’d remind me that God has a plan and path for us EVERY STEP OF THE WAY (even when it comes down to a cancelled flight at the gate!) And while it may not feel like purpose is involved at that moment, often it’s times like those that prepare us for greater.

So this week if you're faced with uncertainty, crisis, or change... think of how God wants you to respond. Who's plan are you following anyway?

Many are the plans in a person’s heart,

but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.
