It's Time!

Because I’m such a planner, I’m always trying to find the perfect time for everything. This applies to just about all aspects of my life, from finding the right time of the year to schedule an event to the best time of day to eat or drink the 64 ounces of water I try to commit to daily (this one is rather important because it determines how often I have to get up throughout the night😬)

And while I would argue that planning and scheduling like I do are necessary for adequate preparation; I do have the propensity to go a little overboard at times. I admit that I’ve been guilty of not moving forward in some areas of my life because I was convinced that it wasn’t the perfect time for me to do so. At those times, I wasn’t listening to the Holy Spirit reminding me that God was moving pieces behind the scenes by answering my prayers and requests. I couldn’t hear God’s soft whispers of confirmation that I’ve come to know, because the timing I’d created in my head didn’t line up with His timing.

I’m getting a lot better, though. And not because I no longer plan or schedule just about every detail of my day down to when I’ll call my mom to just say hi—but because I’ve learned that while there may not be a PERFECT time for some things, there’s always the RIGHT time for what God has ordained.

So I’ll continue to commit to the time I’ve set aside to be in God’s presence. Somehow, it never fails that the more faithful I am to this, the more precise I am with timing everything else.

This week if  you find yourself waiting for the perfect moment or getting stuck in the details of scheduling and planning… Here is your reminder to give a moment to God, set aside a time to bask in His Goodness and be in awe of His Glory. When don’t you have time for that?

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens
