I’ll chose Him over luck any day!

During the month of March, there’s typically a good deal of media rhetoric around being lucky. But even beyond March 17th, when many celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, there’s all sorts of messaging about luck and being lucky. From the lottery, to raffles at events, to scratch offs displayed against the window at gas stations; we regularly are encouraged to take a chance and see if today’s our LUCKY day. And don’t we all want to beat the odds, be that one special person out of so many others who actually wins in the end?

But we are just that and guess what? Luck or chance have nothing to do with it.

God has given us His word that if we delight in Him, He’ll give us the desires of our heart (Psalm 37:4)

And we know that every GOOD gift and every PERFECT gift is from above, so why do we continue to wage our bets and take our chances?

It could be for the thrill and anticipation (or am I the only person who’s ever grabbed a scratch off and thought “This is it”). But truth be told, for the majority of us, that thrill usually ends up in disappointment.

I think I’m going to focus more on trusting His process and not be anxious about anything that I may have gained if I were “lucky”.

He has it all under control and is working all things together for my good (Romans 8:28)
