When It's All Said and Done

2020 is just about over. And no different than I’ve done in past years, I plan to spend some time in reflection over the next week or so. However, no matter how routine this end/beginning of year ritual is, it goes without saying that this time around might present itself in a rather unique way.

Typically, my practice is to review the previous year’s list and assess where I’ve fallen short and what all I plan to carry over into the next year-But I’ve decided to change up a bit- I’ll speak for myself and share that there were more than one occasion in  2020 that I:

  • Experienced periods of loneliness

  • Felt overwhelmed with a sense of uncertainty

  • Questioned my own judgement in matters

...But I’m grateful that NONE of those occasions were long term and I found a way to:

*Surround myself with my tribe of like minded children of God who encouraged each other

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
— (Proverbs 27:17)

*Remind myself of The One who knew what 2020 was going to look like from the beginning I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come.  and He’s ALWAYS taken care of me-THAT is all the certainty I need.

I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’
— (Isaiah 46:10)

*Stand on His Word and Trust in His Name

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight
— (Proverbs 3: 5-6)

So when 2020 is all said and done....I’ll be ready for 2021-

May you and your family continue to be safe, healthy and prosperous in all that God has spoken for your lives-

Walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess
— (Deuteronomy 5:33)
