SURPRISE!!!

“Surprise (noun). - an unexpected or astonishing event, fact, or thing.”

Thinking in terms of a “surprise” creates thoughts and memories of occasions like well-planned parties, secretly crafted marriage proposals, and unexpected visits from loved ones. All examples of surprises that by design, left all who were involved, full of excitement, gratitude, and joy....in their HAPPY PLACE!

Now, I get that not every that happens to us is met with happiness. In fact, with all of the aforementioned examples (although I would imagine that was the goal), we probably all can recall a moment in time where things didn’t quite turn out fun or as planned! The same is the case with God’s plans for our lives.

While living in Florida, the pastor of the church we attended regularly reminded the congregation that God never says OOPS😵 And that nothing catches Him by surprise. Remember??... He’s all-knowing!

While I try hard not to question His path for me, at times I struggle with His timing. And it is at precisely those times that I reflect on Isaiah 43:19 and I particularly like The Message translation: 

“Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands.”

So, we may not have the blueprint, but all we really have to do is trust Him to get us to our destined end...And remember, He never says OOPS!
